Happy Thanksgiving Banner Clip Art 1

The Holidays are Here

It's the time of year to reflect on the good things we have. I believe that, whether large or small, there is always something to be grateful for. Whether it be gratitude for the sunshine, a friendly stranger, the people you love, or your favorite mechanic ;). Now is the time of year that we slow down, and enjoy what good things we have. This holiday season, I hope that all of you are surrounded by things that bring you joy. May you all have love, peace, and full bellies this Thanksgiving.

Keeping You Safe

Things are tough right now for everyone. Not only are we dealing with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic but we are all worried about the future of our economy. Petty Motorworks is here to help everyone through this difficult time. We have taken every measure possible to ensure the safe handling of you and your car.
Check out what we can do for you:
  • No-Contact service
  • Night drop and outside Key Locker for after hours service
  • Email, text, and phone contacts
  • Pick-up and Delivery service (within our service area)
  • WE will disinfect your car on drop-off and then again before you pick-up
  • 6 month No Interest (if paid in full) financing is available for most repairs.
  • Free Digital Vehicle Health Report (VHR). We have been using a digital vehicle inspection system for over four years now and our customers love it. Your VHR will be emailed and texted to you for review once completed. This is a great way for us to explain to you about your vehicles service needs
  • Our VHR include photographs and videos to help demonstrate issues without you ever coming in the shop

Heading South for the winter?

Heading South for the winter comes with its own challenges. At Petty Motorworks, we have you covered. You should have your vehicle checked before you leave and consider a Battery Tender to prevent you vehicles battery from going dead while you are away.  We have Battery Tenders in stock and they are ready to be installed.   The Battery Tender and a complete Vehicle Health Report are less then a battery replacement so give us a call today.

Don't Get Stuck In The Cold

Most vehicle break downs can be prevented with a proper inspection and routine maintenance.  We offer a free Vehicle Health Report that includes a battery test.  Give us a call to set up an appointment and we can make sure you are ready for winter.

Napa Easy Pay Financing

Napa Easy Pay is a 6 month no interest if paid in full offer.  What a better way to break up the cost of your new tires or any repair into six payments without interest. I recommend getting your card today just incase you are faced with an expensive repair.  This way you can budget your payments over 6 months and if paid in full there will be no interest.  Click Here To Apply

Napa Gold Certified Auto Care Center

I am proud to say that we were the first Napa Gold Certified Auto Care Center in New Jersey and that our work carries a 3 year 36,000 mile Nation Wide Warranty.  It is very difficult to receive this certification and even a year after the program was released there is still only a handful of Gold Certified shops in New Jersey.

Computer Programming

Does your car shift strangely or is it hard to start, maybe the fuel efficiency is off, all of these things plus many more can be related to an updated computer program for you vehicle.  Most vehicles today have more than twenty computer modules, and most can have the software updated just like your computer at home.  At Petty Motorworks we have been bringing on more and more computer programming capabilities and we currently have the ability to do software updates and computer replacements on General Motors, Ford, Nissan, and Subaru and we are adding more and more as time goes on (soon to add Honda, Toyota, and Chrysler).  So if you have a strange symptom that can not be explained, let us take a look and see if there is an update available that may address your concern.

Fun Facts

1. Historians have no record of turkey being eaten at the first Thanksgiving.

Instead, "ducks, geese, and swans" are believed to have been served to the English settlers and Native Americans.

2. Benjamin Franklin wished the turkey was the national bird.

In a letter to his daughter, Benjamin Franklin wrote, "For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country...For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird."

3. The first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade had Central Park Zoo animals.

Held in 1924, the first parade included monkeys, bears, camels, and elephants borrowed from the Central Park Zoo instead of the traditional character balloons we know today.

4. The first professional Thanksgiving Day football game was played 1920.

A century ago, Thanksgiving Day fell on November 25 and there were six football games played, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

5. "Jingle Bells" was originally a Thanksgiving Day song.

Before becoming a Christmas anthem, "Jingle Bells" was an 1857 song titled "One Horse Open Sleigh," and its composer, James Pierpont, intended it to be a Thanksgiving Day song.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, from Petty Motorworks!
