Why Do We Balance Wheels? – Understanding Road Force

Most tire vibrations are fixed with routine dynamic tire balancing (high speed ) but some need more then that.  This video illustrates the process and need of a Road Force tire balancing service.

This past week a new customer was refereed to us from a local custom wheel shop.  The customer had take his vehicle to several shops in attempt to correct his vibration concern at 70mph.  With our Road Force balancing service we were able to correct his concern by dynamic balancing of all four tires but the Road Force correction of two tires is what really put this to bed.

The above image is the final goal.  The tire has been dynamically balanced and only has 17 pounds of road force variation.

This is an example of a tire that we could not correct.  The road force variation was much to high to be corrected by rotating the wheel in relationship to the tire.  The wheel was not bent  and the tire bead was properly seated so the only repair for this would be a tire replacement.
